Re: Folks, do beleaguered veterans a favor: READ THE MANUAL

Sometimes it seems that people will do almost anything to avoid reading.

Re: Record duration

Hi. Maybe post your configuration? How much memory, how much space available on your system drive, hardware, etc.?

V 1.70 - can't download ffmpeg/libav

When I try to download the ffmpeg/libav files, I get this error:

"error sending data (12007) the server name or address..."

Can anyone help with this problem? Thanks in advance.

Re: Extract audio from mp4

Hi. The method that always works for me is to temporarily change the "mp4" to "mpg", then open it in Goldwave, make my edits/changes, then save it to wav. When you're done, don't forget to change the file suffix back to "mp4".

Re: Use HTML to isolate part of an audio file

You can do exactly that at Soundcloud.com. Click "share" under your audio file, & pause the file at the point you want it to start. Check the "at" box & you'll see that the link has been adjusted. You can then embed the Soundcloud player in a web page.

Re: can't record

Hi Phillip!

Go to Control Properties, then Device. Note the Quality setting; it should be set to "48000/2/32 shared" for recording & playback. Please check in & let us know if this helps.

Re: GW 5.57 crashes on exit (Win 7 64-bit)

Hiya, folks...long time no see!

Just want to chime in & let people know that Chris' solution for the exit crash also works in Vista. Nice graceful exit once I renamed (then deleted) the QT .pig file.

Re: Apple //e nostalgia: sampled audio

Never had an Apple, but your post reminded me of the old days, the days of the C-64 & its SID chip. I had a Covox Voice Master, which recorded digital sound & played it back by toggling the SID's volume control on & off thousands of times a second. Flintstones, meet the Flintstones.... ;>

Re: Loops

Firstly, do a search of the Goldwave forums; there are many posts on the subject.

Secondly, read DewDude420's excellent Looping Tutorial.

If you still need help after that, we'll be here.

Re: Recording sound card output

First thing you should do:

Open the Windows volume control (little speaker in the system tray), choose Options/Properties, select Recording, & see which sources are checked; any box not checked won't show up as an available recording source.

Hope this helps.

you wanna guess how much fun it is to find a mp3 decoder for MS-DOS?
I'd guess it'd be quite a pain in the...neck, Jay. Yikes. Thanks for the screenies & info.
