For what it's worth, 6.56 works just fine on Win7 x64 (both with and without an explicit outbound firewall rule set on the .exe, to test).GoldWave Inc. wrote: ↑Fri Sep 17, 2021 9:01 amWould be interested to hear from other Windows 7 users if they are not having this issue.

Re: Batch Processing - Dialogue Window Bug?
This is (as usual with recent releases) an issue with using high DPI. If you lower your system DPI settings to %100 (default), the side-bars will be present. Naturally, lowering one's DPI defeats the purpose, so it's easier to use an earlier version instead (if the dev were kind enough to re-release...

Re: Version 616 and high DPI do not mix...
As an addendum, you forgot to reduce the Batch Processing "Progress" popup - the text is bloated, so the dropdowns show "Maximum Pri", etc, instead of full text.

Re: Version 616 and high DPI do not mix...
Considering it only took Embarcadero - what, 8 years? - to release a mildly overpriced x64-compiler, maybe they'll buy themselves some hi-def LCD's and quickly learn what it feels like to work in tiny boxes. That said, as you pointed out, at least being able to see the full text (some squinting requ...

Re: Version 616 and high DPI do not mix...
Well... kind of. Not to appear ungrateful for the "fix" but essentially the dialogues in 617 now render at the equivalent of DPI == 1, which is distinctly smaller than the appropriately scaling 615. The whole point of users adjusting their DPI settings is not an arbitrary one, and an other...

Version 616 and high DPI do not mix...
The text in all dialogues is mildly out of proportion if the (Win7) system DPI is 125% in this version. 615 rendered properly.

Regression: Batch 'Overall' indicator in .14(.15) from .13
A superficial thing really, but the "Overall Progress" for a batch conversion process is somehow "doubling" during stages - it counts the reading "in" phase as 1 then the conversion as 2, etc - leading eventually to the final Overall Progress showing 24/12 completed. Wh...

Re: On the Death of Outdated Modals...
This is mainly a user-to-user forum... I'm aware of that, but this isn't a developer question per se (all appearances to the contrary ) - many users (and dev's) simply aren't aware that there is a superior FindFolder dialog built into the Windows API (since Vista, as far as I know), and so ju...

On the Death of Outdated Modals...
Any chance of implementing the "new style" IFileDialog::GetFolder modal to replace the ergonomically unfriendly (and horribly legacy) FindFolder dialog? There's really no reason to keep using the old modal except for those who choose to stay with XP - and, to be fair, keeping it for backwa...

Re: Why is there no Multi-Core support?
While the OP was a little tactless by insisting upon a feature that (as pointed out above) is not used often in the milieu of editing, he raises a valid point. I have often thought that spawning multiple instances of lame (or whatever - the actual codec need not be multi-core supportive) when export...

Re: Selecting a Selection...
Incidentally, for those interested in having an explorer context menu selection for GoldWave (instead of using SendTo) there's a rather convenient free utility from NirSoft called FileTypesMan which allows you to add/remove whatever items you like to the windows context menu, in this case particular...

Re: goldwave + flv
Strange, maybe my codecs are just being friendly this week, but GoldWave has no problem extracting the audio from .flv, .avi, .mkv, even a .3gp. The only type it didn't like was .mov - but that's no great loss.

Ah yes, you were only trying to have to have it in the list; it becomes fully frustrating when you're trying to associate a programme full-stop (text-editors, etc) and Windows decides to ignore you.clemon79 wrote:More puzzling than frustrating...

Re: "Open With" not working in Win7 64bit?
Frustrating, isn't it? This seems to happen from time to time when the Open-With menu gets overpopulated with "other" applications... no rhyme or reason to it. It just ignores your browsed selection. The solution is OpenWithAdd (requires no installation, and works under x64 no problem). To...
