You can upload a screenshot to a service like

and then post the link here, or use BBCode's "Img" tags to imbed the image.

Re: New user a few questions about Goldwave.

1 Is there a quick way to select the whole song and have it so that the volume peaks are set to a maximum , any volume (amplitude) peaks or spikes won't go above a certian point, for example 1.5db?? You can select the whole song with Edit > Select All (shortcut [Ctrl+A]), then use Effect > Volume >...

In GoldWave, Effect > Doppler... should do the trick.

Re: Cursor won't move when Play activated

The first thing you need to do is get the machine in a state where it can play some sound through the speakers, either via Windows Media Player or from one of the test buttons in Windows' "Sound" control panel. Once that is achieved, if the problem with GoldWave persists then we can investigate that...

Re: how to use VB Script control goldwave?

Any update on this? I was hoping to be able to manipulate GoldWave via .NET so that I can record audio using a global hotkey or upon a certain event. Is this still not possible? If there's some work arounds, let me know! Your .NET app doesn't need to manipulate GoldWave to record audio. Look here: ...

Re: Upgrade issue

Thinking about it some more (waiting for the lights to come back on during the Super Bowl) I seemed to recall a few instances where simple drag-and-drop operations in Windows Explorer would also stop working for me. Restarting the computer often clears up little oddities like that. However, I just d...

Re: Upgrade issue

Gorg, if the same thing happens with you, then there is an intermittent bug, which may be a devil of a proiblem to track down. Malin Ha! I just logged in here to report the same thing. D+D didn't work on my 64-bit Win7 notebook yesterday, but when I tried it again today it worked first time. (I was...

Re: Upgrade issue

I just upgraded from v. 5.67 to 5.68 and seem to have lost drag&drop capability for opening files. Nothing appears in the waveform window, and the controls remain grayed out I just tested this and the results seem to confirm an issue with v5.68, at least for 64-bit Windows 7. Specifically: - 64-bit...

Re: compatibility and upgrade issue

I downloaded the files from this site Okay, that's good. I did do an install without using installer (right clicked and opened archive etc) inside it showed files like goldwave.exe and others [...] so I made a folder for it and moved files there and clicked the goldwave.exe As you discovered, that ...

Re: compatibility and upgrade issue

anyway are we just forced to update now or what? There are a lot of applications whose older versions won't run under modern versions of Windows, and v3.22 would be a VERY old version of GoldWave. In particular, very old 32-bit applications are often unable to run under 64-bit operating systems bec...

Re: Recording Source: Stereo Mix

If you search the forums here (and elsewhere) you will find lots of discussions about "Stereo Mix" going away. A few people have found convoluted ways of getting it back that can work for their particular setup, but in general Stereo Mix should be considered a thing of the past. The good news is tha...

Re: Goldwave and Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 Compatibility

Starting with v5.60, GoldWave added support for the newer "Core Audio/WASAPI" interface found in Windows Vista and later. Your older version of GoldWave likely supports just the older "DirectSound" interface.

Re: Windows 7 and Goldwave

Hi Larry. I don’t understand your SOFTWARE Loopback Recording Devices. Searching the web basically says that is the same as Stereo Mix (maybe with a different name) That's the general idea. I'm certainly no expert on coding against the Windows audio API(s), but what I've found by tinkering with v5.6...

Re: Portable Install?

Does anyone know how to do the portable install with the new version of GW? According to the GoldWave v5.68 manual: To create a portable installation: 1. Install GoldWave on a flash drive or other removable storage drive. GoldWave will install settings in the Windows registry initially. 2. Run Gold...
