Re: device sampling rate is off
What "device" is in question? Is this a USB converter? If so, please specify.

Re: How to mute with automated fade in and fade out
Are you a regular Goldwave user? If not, have you experimented with the demo?

Re: Sustain a note
Anyone who's ever used Izotope RX seriously knows that it completely outclasses Goldwave in waveform manipulation abilities. I know, after having used Goldwave exclusively, for years, for sound processing and editing. I think most of the people who post on this site have never used an audio program ...

Re: Sound window start using cursor
You've been posting here for more than 10 years, and you still don't know how the Goldwave cursor works? What have you been doing in the interim?

Folks, do beleaguered veterans a favor: READ THE MANUAL
Unless it says otherwise explicitly in the manual, it probably isn't possible. If you want to experiment anyway, fine. Download the Goldwave demo, install it, and start experimenting. But quit asking other people to do your homework for you. Copious resources are available, virtually at your fingert...

Re: Record duration
No problem. But Reaper isn't the only program with that simple recording scheme. I think Audacity works the same way, essentially. Press 'record' and go. No time limits to worry about. And Audacity is, unlike Reaper, free. Goldwave is better than Audacity for editing and mastering files after they'v...

Re: Sustain a note
I want to use a section of a piece of instrumental music. However, the section I want is not at the end, so it does not end like an ending. I would like to chop it off with a certain note, but I would like to sustain that note and then taper it off, so it fades out after a second or two. Is there a...

Re: Record duration
i don't know why Goldwave makes the recording process so complex. Most people just want to press "Record" and go; they have no need for time limits. This isn't 1993. The time limit seems to be a holdover from when computers had only the bare minimum of storage capacity. I have a 1TB hard d...

Re: I am a new member here and I have a request
Hello, I am Muhammad, I am 16 years old. I do not understand sound matters, but when I watched episodes of the Gundam Wings anime from the website, I was surprised by the improved sound quality. I asked the owner of the site and he told me that we use goldwave, and I have instrumental for some anim...

Re: GoldWave vs VinylStudio vs Soundforge
The best place to look for discussions about audio editor sound quality is probably below: https://gearspace.com/board/ That said, given a particular interface protocol, like, say, WASAPI, all audio editors are going to sound exactly the same at the same frequency and bit-rate settings. No professio...

Re: Show total number of files
Is this a feature request?
Otherwise, you could answer your own question, i.e. check the owner's manual. I've never seen the option myself.

Re: Noise Reduction Errors
There is a separate GUI installed w/ Goldwave called 'Goldwave Setup.' Check in your Windows app menu, then look at the listed check-box options after you open the GUI.
BTW, I discovered all of the above, a few years ago, by doing a forum search.

Re: Noise Reduction Errors
I think there's something in 'Goldwave Setup' that says 'Ignore floating-point errors.' Tick that and see what happens.

Re: Installing Golcwave in Linux?
Have you done a forum search? You might have to look back a long way to find something you want. I've never seen Linux usage discussed on the GW forum.
