What do you need that you don't have with this program as it is now? I agree that Goldwave is pretty complete. Like I mentioned earlier, though, Multiquence could have many features added to make it a better multitracking tool. Chris has these on his list, but he's only one guy, and I'm sure he has...

I agree. It's great. What I'm asking is if we can keep the quality while introducing features faster by expanding the developer base.

No doubt about the value and quality of Chris' work.

If you're looking for pitch correction (I've not listened to the song) you may try the VST plug-in GSnap from GVST.

Re: Expansion

I wonder if, for example, posting a $1000 bounty...would spur development. That's not a bad idea. Or you may be able to create a small market (think "store") for plug-ins where the developer gets a buck or two. I'd be particularly interested in team development, or rapid dev tools for Mul...

Re: Mixing

Any help for getting a BETTER mix. Mine always turns out kind of lousy. I might be doing something wrong. I'm not sure about specifics without listening to the track, but a couple of general thoughts come to mind. 1. There is some very good information out there from sources such as Studio Buddy an...

Re: Installing with default presets: Great Program but...

The process of loading default presets in restricted user account should be documented in the manual, and not just a quick note on the installation screen. The next update will attempt to install presets automatically the first time the program is started by a different user. Dan, looks like you're...

Re: Expansion

Expanding GoldWave... Sorry, Chris, I was not very clear in my original question. What I'm asking is, what are your thoughts about expanding the development team? This could be done either by adding tools that make it increasingly easier for super-users to add functionality, or by getting together ...

Expansion

Chris, I'm curious to know what your thoughts are toward expanding what you've started here. You've got two excellent-quality software programs for audio-video, and a very active community centered around the products (especially Goldwave). Additionally, you've got us hungry for more. How do you fee...

Re: Default presets

Don't developers test their software anymore!? Sadly, most don't do a very good job of this. However, I'm sure you'll find, like the rest of us here have found, that Goldwave is exceptional in several areas. Not only is it a thoroughly complete piece of software, it is amazingly robust. Certainly C...

Re: Poor performance and stuttering

Specifically: when previewing in the editor the clips will “stutter”, repeating about 3 seconds then moving forward and stuttering again. I will receive the warning message in the status bar indicating that I have insufficient system resources. I have similar problems, but I'm not processing video;...

Where did you find the answer to your question? Could you post a link to it please? If you Google ".wav specification" you'll see a list of sites like this one. Notice in the data sub-chunk there are only 4 bytes (32 bits) for specifying the size, giving a maximum size of 4,294,967,295 by...

As is the 18dBU thing (or 20 if using the NTSC reference, if I remember rightly... I've read a LOT of numbers recently ;)) Very interesting. The 18dBu would explain, or at least corrolate to the thing I've seen in Cakewalk Sonar 5. When you set the volume trim at max, it shows +18dB, and min shows ...

Re: Another feature request

As for MIDI support, the bad new is that it (most likely) will be removed completely from the next major version, along with CD sections. You mean it's currently in the active version? Whoops! I'll have to check that. Why would it be removed? Neither of those sections could be mixed in the f...

Re: Another feature request

In my opinion, the other feature that would be better to have than all of the above would be the ability to record/edit/playback MIDI. That would make Multiquence a fantastic production tool. When I'm working a production project where we're not sure what key the vocalist is going to need to work in...

Another feature request

One other thing that I've run into quite a bit: When using DirectX plug-ins (e.g., reverb), I often run into a problem where the plug-in requires stereo input, but I'm wanting to send it a mono section, like a vocal track, for instance. Currently, I get around this by editing the .wav to make it a s...
