In GoldWave, press the F11 key, choose the Device tab, and check the "High latency..." option or change the playback device to see if that solves the problem.

It is best to filter pops and clicks before performing noise reduction. With low volume music, your ears become much more sensitive to even slight distortions in the music. ID3 tags are used for MP3 files. Wave, Ogg, AIFF, WMA all use different ways of storing metadata. To add or edit the information with GoldWave, use the File | Information command.

Make sure the device is plugged directly into the computer rather than into a USB hub (or a monitor hub) or try using a different USB port. Also make sure you have all the latest Windows Updates installed. If all else fails, check with Numark technical support.

In that case it probably is not a sound quality problem, but more of a synchronization or cancellation problem. If you are mixing together very similar layers of audio, closely (but not perfectly) synchronized, part of the audio may cancel out much like a Flanger or short delay effect.
