If you've got almost all the music gone, you're left with a track that largely contains only the stuff you want to get rid of, so you might get some mileage out of inverting the wave for that and mixing it with the original. It won't be perfect (it might even be horrible) but if it's good enough for...

For voice you might actually be able to get away with MP3, provided you're not doing a lot of editing and re-saving of the MP3 file. You should still use the highest bitrate that you can, although I assume that disk space considerations are the reason why you're using MP3 in the first place. If you ...

Is this a laptop without a line-input connector? Maybe your laptop has a utility that allows you to re-configure the microphone-input as a line-input??? I'd assume that's it, yeah. It could be the case that the soundcard is capable of auto-switching the input between mic/line depending on the sourc...

Re: recording through EQ (failure to)
Here's another strange thing: If my memory serves me, I don't recall movement in the control graph window UNTIL I hit the record button when I record through the EQ. Yet, now it displays movement prior to recording. This looks like the crucial piece of info to me, and it suggests that something has...

> it's a fairly specialized requirement I cannot see how. Clipping protection was added to Match volume - it just hasn't yet been added to Change Volume. And it would be fairly trivial to add, but how many people actually need or want to do it this way? It seems as though your requirement to have c...

I don't actually think it's possible to do what you want short of writing a custom plug-in; it's a fairly specialized requirement so I would doubt if any software would support it. The best I can offer is a non-batch method, but it will get the result quicker and easier than doing each file individu...

General EQ Guidelines
I found these on another site, but I'm posting them here as they may be useful. EQ is a fairly black art as it is, the general advice is to use your ears and experiment, but if you don't know (or are not sure) where to even start, it can be very difficult. Hopefully these can help make things that l...

You can't really do this, as changing the pitch but preserving duration requires making a best guess at adding information that was never there to begin with. It's inevitable that there will be side-effects, and you've just noticed one. However, there is a way that might be acceptable... First off, ...

- Topic: Is It Possible To Fix This Audio File Using Goldwave?

The bad news is that it looks like you have a severe case of the dreaded clipping here. This is generally impossible to fix with digital audio, as once information has been lost it's gone forever. The (slightly) good news is that there is a program called declip which claims to make a reasonable sta...
