Re: How to make the file sounds like through telephone?

In a recent post on a related topic DougDbug suggested a bandpass filter for the range 30 Hz to 3,000 Hz as a reasonable approximation of a standard telephone. You might start with that.

Re: Control Window

Another option is to close the Control window and then use the Control toolbar. (The Control toolbar should automatically appear in the main window when the Control window is closed.)

Did you tick the "Convert files to this format:" checkbox? If that box is unchecked then the related options are grayed out.

Re: Loops

Hi, Max.

If you follow my procedure the resulting file will contain a single loop-able sequence of samples that runs for 0.159 seconds. You can stretch that out to ~1 second by using Don's instructions for copy-and-paste to create a file that has six (6) of those sequences in it.

Have fun!

If you want to force the signal to clip on one channel then you can - select the whole file with [Ctrl-A] - restrict editing to one channel, left = [Ctrl-Shift-L], or right = [Ctrl-Shift-R], or via the menu with Edit > Channel > [Left | Right] - use the Change Volume effect Effect > Volume > Change ...

Re: Samples count of selection.. Please HELP

Hi, Ashish. In the status bar at the bottom of the main GoldWave window try right-clicking on the time display. It should show you a number of other values that you can display instead. For example, the file I have loaded right now has the following in the status bar: Stereo | 40:55.531 | 0.000 to 4...

Re: Creative Technology driver crash

Hi, Peter. A quick Google search reveals that "Creative Technology Inc." is the parent company of Creative Labs, the people who make Sound Blaster audio adapters and such. If your computer is from a major manufacturer like Dell, HP, etc. then go to their website and see if you can find an ...

Re: How to reuse your software/hardware when you upgrade!

I agree with Jay that virtual machines are a Good Thing. I have used VMware Workstation for years and am a huge fan of the product. However, in the past I have had very mixed results when trying to use audio on a virtual machine. I haven't tried it in a while and I expect that it is better now than ...
