Re: Add noise to one channel in an stereo file

Hey Moonmist, Although your method seems very accurate to me, I have been getting a signal that seems more saturated. I don’t know if it’s due to the sound card of the computer in my university or the method itself. To illustrate my point better I have a couple of images from my oscilloscope. The f...

Step 1: Open GoldWave Step 2: Click on "File" on the menu at the top of the GoldWave window Step 3: Click on "New" Step 4: Click on the box to the right of where it says "Number of channels" Step 5: On the list that comes up click on "2 (stereo)" Step 6: Choos...

Re: Restoring dynamic range on compressed music (loudness wa

Sooo what really is happening here? I would love for this to be the end all to fixing my louder/louder/loudest CD's. Bravo to the first poster on discovering this (whatever it does) the dynamics aren't restored... all that is, is the clipped audio phase shifted elevating some peaks and lowering som...

Re: Can't get added presets to work for GWAmp

I've fixed the problem in the GWAmp plug-in, but there is also a related problem in GoldWave. That will be fixed in the next update, which should be ready around the end of September. Hi Chris - I hate to bother you with this because I know you are busy, but will the next update allow me to once ag...

oh sorry I thought you wanted to also normalize afterward which if you did 100 to 25 you wouldn't need to normalize. I guess you actually want the signal to be 12db over clipping level then for some reason... in that case you can't do it all in one step until Chris (not you.. the developer of Goldwa...

(100*4 = 400 and 25*4 = 100 so boom there's your 400% to 100% without clipping all in one step!) Thanks, but that's two steps. And requires start %age adjustment to be made in two places. No I was just telling you the math so you could see that going from 100 to 25% is the same as going from 400 to...

how about going from 100% to 25%, then no maximizing required and it won't be clipping (100*4 = 400 and 25*4 = 100 so boom there's your 400% to 100% without clipping all in one step!)

Can't believe no one else thought of that! :?

if this is so harmful how come it feels so pleasant to me then? I've never gotten a migrane, my headphones have never broken. I talked to a guy from headroom.com and he told me that the Denon aren't harmed at all by lower than 20 hz frequencies and in fact it was one of it's main features! even on c...

I can hear them just fine. Yes the overtones are what gets you to recognize the pitch but the fundamental of 16hz can be heard if it's loud enough, it just isn't recognizable as a pitch (unless you're some amazing freak of nature lol) unless there is overtones. But if I put a fully maximized 16hz si...

The spectrum filter allows frequencies down to 10 hz to be edited but it doesn't work right now (I reported it as a bug to Chris, he's probably working on it for the next update). The Parametric EQ will work correctly at any frequency (I've discovered via the windows registry) and you can boost or r...

Is this what you're looking to do? I did it manually with mixing and fading in less than two minutes. It may not be as fancy an an expression evaluater, but it sure is a lot quicker than what you were doing. :) Yes!! That's exactly what I'm looking to do! You're right... and lying in bed the other ...

I don't think the pan effect in goldwave achieves what I'm trying to achieve... see I'm wanting it to actually go gradually from full stereo to being mono mixed and then gradually back to stereo but with the channels exchanged... the panner effect in goldwave doesn't seem to allow me to dynamically ...

Dynamic Channel Mixing?

This would be a nice feature to add to the channel mixing effect, but in the meantime how would I go about doing this in the expression evaluator? I just went ahead and did it manually by creating markers 100 ms apart and doing the "select between cue points" and manually changed the mix f...

Ok here is the info I got, screenshots included :)

Ok here are some screenshots of what I'm talking about... first screenshot is of the FFT 16 not showing the full spectrum. As you can see frequencies from 65,536 hz to 100,000 hz are not being displayed when they in fact are present in the audio. (This is a spectrum of a baritone guitar note boosted...

Bugs in spectrum filter

Hello, wonderful software, it's the best in terms of ease to use imho! And the expression evaluator is the most genius idea ever brought to audio editing! I use it all the time! However there has been a bug that has been bothering me in the spectrum filter that has been present ever since you implem...
