Highlight the parts that need fixing....then go to Effect ---> Filter ----> Equalizer. You can preview your adjustments with the play button on that window...and when youre happy...just press OK. =] Dont forget....if you mess up, you can always press Ctrl + z to "Undo".....but it is good p...

This sounds like a USB 2.0 error......

Is it possible youre using a USB 1.1 driver for a 2.0 device?

I only ask cuz im a hardware nut, and ive seen stranger happen for a borked driver install.

i would move some data around.....i work with huge soundfiles too, and without at least 5GB free (for the temp file drive) i get the same error.

welcome to microsoft hardware wonders Blandine.....get a PCI soundcard, and save yourself the hassle. lol

A lot of boards are coming with the c-media drivers and device. Personally, im not a fan....id rather use my 16-bit soundblaster live. Glad to see you worked it out though.

Well...i believe you will still have to rip the whole tune....but you should be able ot use the batch editing feature to not only leave just the first 30-60 seconds...but you can add fades and other nifty effects too....=]

Well....ive been using GW for a Years no as well..and use my mousewheel for scrolling daily.....

...but if dont wanna elaborate, and wait for Chris, thats fine too. Surely he knows more than i do.

I recently did the same thing, however my company uses .vox files at an even lower compression rate.

Rip from CD to top quality....and sample down from there.....

i have most certainly seen goldwave have its errors for me at times....but i have never seen it BSOD.

...matter of fact...i RARELY see software cause a BSOD...but thats just me.

Is it a USB 2.0 drive with 2.0 drivers?

Maybe list your PC specs and ill see what my hardware brain can come up with....

What about an alternative for mixing...say, cool edit, or sonar. It sounds like you are having a file conversion issues here. What sample rate are you saving the mp3 file in. You have the oppurtunity to specify this in the save dialog box at the time of saving. Or did i totally miss something, and the sounds is borked (<----actual term...=]) before saving. Where ...
