Strange File Extension

Post by piano nick »

I've been recording wave files with GW for several months at 24 bit, without a hitch.

However last night, a few of the files were called "6 file" when viewed in IE.

If I then loaded one of these "6 files" into GW, and "Saved As". It then became a wave file. However, the file with extension "6 file" remained in IE - in other words there are two files with the same name but different extensions. A different symbol too.

What is a "6 file" and how did it get created? This just showed up last night - haven't tried recording since then.

PN

PS - the "6 files" and the "wav" files are identical in size for the same song.
