AC3 Filter problem

Post by 4-Way »

I've installed ac3filter but goldwave cannot seem to see it. I've installed ac3 filter to its default location but in the directx plugins its not listed so I keep getting the unrecognised codec error. Should I be doing something else special?

btw I'm running xp pro.

Make sure you can play AC3 files in Windows Media Player. If you can't, then the filter is not installed properly. Even with the filter installed, GoldWave will not support saving in that format (it only opens AC3 files).

The DirectX plug-ins list is for effects only and is not related to opening/saving files.

Thanks for replying,
Yes it plays in media player but gives the codec error when I try to open it in Goldwave.
