How save left and right channels separately?

Post by zigzag »

I have got a stereo recording of some speech.

One channel of the recorder seems to have a fault in it and it has put unwanted noises into the right channel.

How can I save the left channel as one audio file and then save the right channel as a separate audio file? (Each file
would have just one channel.)

Thanks

Go to EDIT | CHANNEL:

Select LEFT OR RIGHT (this will cancel out one of the channels). Then copy and paste the single channel into a new file. Do the same for the opposite channel. Hope that helps.

Thanks Sarge. I was looking everywhere in GoldWave for a command that split the left and the right. No wonder I couldn't find it!

After selecting the channel, you can use File | Save Selection As to save that channel to a separate file (mono or stereo) rather than copy/paste to a new file. Also the Effect | Stereo | Channel Mixer command can be used to replace one channel with the other.
