I've probably missed the obvious, but is it possible to make GW automatically scroll the waveform left/right when marking a new selection ?
It auto-scrolls when the cursor goes off the side of the waveform while adjusting an existing selection, but not when doing a new selection.
Auto-scroll left/right when doing a new selection ?

No, you can't adjust that. If you are having trouble using the selection method that way, go to Options | Window and select "Use left and right mouse button selection method".Defenestration wrote:Also, is it possible to start a new selection (setting the end point) and then move the cursor left to set the start point ?
This will allow you to click the left mouse button for the starting point, and the right mouse button for the finish point. Maybe you'll find this method easier to use anyways.

It's not that I'm having trouble so much, as I can see why it may be preferable to have it as it is, but I can also see times when doing it the other way may also be useful (ie. similar to how selection occurs in text editors/ edit boxes).
It would be nice if this could be made optional in a future version of GW (shouldn't be too hard to implement I wouldn't have thought).

Re: Auto-scroll left/right when doing a new selection ?
Scrolling the view when using the selection rectangle isn't possible. Auto-scrolling occurs only when you drag the start or finish marker individually. If the new area you want to select is outside the view, then you can still select it within the Overview graph below the zoomed waveform.
