Edit Cue Points feature request

Post by pfeldman »

It would be really great if one could simply add a cue point at the start or end of the current selection by doing something like "Edit/Cue Point/New at Start" or "Edit/Cue Point/New at Finish".

You can use "Ctrl+Q" or Edit | Cue Point | Drop Cue to set the cue point at the start marker. Unfortunately there is no command to set one at the finish marker yet, but you can right-click on a cue point and use the Move Cue To Finish command.

"Drop Cue" adds a cue point?

Post by pfeldman »

It seems counterintuitive that "Drop Cue" would add a cue point. It sounds as though the basic functionality that I'm looking for is already there, albeit in disguise. Thanks!

Edit/Cue Point/New at Start or Edit/Cue Point/New at Finish

Post by pfeldman »

I still feel that the present process for adding a cue point is too cumbersome. I'd like to be able to add a cue point at the start or end of the current selection by doing something like "Edit/Cue Point/New at Start" or "Edit/Cue Point/New at Finish". Also, I'd like to be able to define toolbar buttons to perform these two functions so that I wouldn't have to use the menus at all.

You can use the Options | Tool Bar command to add the Edit | Drop Cue Point command to the main tool bar, but there is still no easy way to set a cue point at the finish marker (except for right-clicking, as mentioned above).

I've discovered that 5.22, despite some slight confusion over the persistent cursor, has a fairly easy way to do what you want. Please see my 10 December post in http://goldwave.ca/forums/viewtopic.php?p=9197#9197

The next update will fix a problem setting cue points at the current recording position with Ctrl+Q. Also Q will set a cue point at the start marker and Shift+Q will set a cue point at the finish marker. All keys can be reassigned under Options | Keyboard.

Probably not before the holidays, but not long after.
