Hi,
I use GoldWave to record chinese lessons. A problem I have is that you can often hear if the person recording breathes in or out. Any tips to avoid that? Might a special microphone help? At the moment I use the Hitachi HMP 606. Which one do you use?

One of the Noise Gate presets under the Expander/Compressor effect may help, provided the breathing is relatively quiet. Also try keeping the microphone further away from the speaker.
