Arrow keys don't move me through the file

Hi, I can not use a mouse because I'm visually impaired so I rely on the arrow keys to move through files and it's always worked fine until recently. However it no longer seems to work, which really matters because I work with large files. Am I doing something wrong or is there a setting I'm over looking?

Make sure the View | Auto Scroll Lock menu item is checked.

Somehow a setting has gotten changed and now my arrow keys scroll me by 5 seconds at a time when it used to be smooth. Also playback jumps from one screen to the next when it reaches the end of the screen. This happened after a computer restart. ?? I need my smooth scrolling back.

Thank you for the View | Auto Scroll Lock suggestion. I UNclicked mine and its working GREAT now.
