Feature Request: Playback space jumping

Post by DougA »

I edit lengthy speech recordings, removing unwanted glitches. This requires listening to the entire recording.
With speech, there are frequent pauses, and it would be nice to be able to skip over them during playback.
Perhaps this option could be incorporated as another slider in the control window (to set the minimum space time)
Or, as an option in the play controls with a check box to turn it on/off in the control window.
The minimum space time value would set a jump point, for example if set to .25 sec, any space longer than .25 sec would be skipped over and play resumed. A nice tweek to this would be to not go into effect until after a couple of seconds, this way, when playing short sections for editing, it won't be getting in the way.
Please note, this would only apply during playback, not to the file, I know there is a space reduction edit, but that changes the file. This is only to help speed up the playing of a file by jumping over dead space.
While the speed control helps in this maner, it's limited due to the freq change that occurs.
