Default Audio Format

Is it possible to set a default format for the Control Record New function? Whenever I use this function, the settings always come up PCM 16-bit 44.1 stero. I'd like to have it record in mono.

The "Record New" function creates a file that is compatible with the computer's sound driver/hardware. Usually that gives stereo and 44100Hz. To record mono you'd have to use "File | New" then use "Record Selection" instead.
