7 Mods for Multiquence

Post by NonWally »

Here are 7 suggestions mods (no specific order, but numbered for reference):

1) Ability to sticky a track to the top in a non scrolling (vertical) area . Think of freezing rows in a spreadsheet.

2) Select sections in a track similar to standard windows keys: Ctrl is individual, Shift selects all between last selected and (including) the section clicked.

3) The ability to regroup all sections in a track together. Example: I use a track (turned off) as a staging area, moving sections into place in live tracks. As I deplete this staging track, the remaining sections are all over the place. A nice menu item (doesn't require a shortcut) to "Shove them all together" would be nice.

4) Something similar to (3) except selected sections could be moved to the start or directly behind the previous section. IE in a track sections A, B, & C are somewhere on the left, you select D to J and have the ability to move D up to where C finishes. In other words, eliminate the white space.

5) Floating preview window. I have just found a posting on moving the preview to a second monitor, which I will try out, but that would only be good where a second monitor is available. if the preview window were floating, then you could move it around, out of the way and devote more of the screen to tracks.

6) Project List: Ability to move an item up or down, thus swapping items in the track. To keep it simple an item could only be moved up or down 1 item - ie a swap. Or if you really wanted some challenge .... I think not. A simple swap would do.

7) Bug (not a big bug, in fact a very small bug). If files have been moved ie a directory restructure, the proggy will ask you to help it find the directory [me DOS person] it is in. This is good - although it only remembers one new directory at a time. When all is said and done and you have helped it find the files, the save icon is still disabled, yet there has been a modification. The change requested: if the file search procedure has been invoked and files have been found, enable the save button.

I found #5 exists. Silly me was only looking in the menu and not on the far RHS.

Chris, can I suggest you have a menu item equivalent for all buttons. Should those buttons on the far right be a bit bigger?

Good suggestions. #2 is already possible for Ctrl. I thought Shift was already possible too, but I guess not. I always use right-click-and-drag to select a bunch of sections.

#3 might be possible with Edit | Space equally... with space between sections set to zero.

For #4, you can select A, B, & C and drag those sections until D touches C. You should notice that the drag-frame sticks to C (unless you drag it well past the edge of C).
