How to record directly into Golwave a sound played on PC

Post by Enzo_78 »

Hello,

(I hope my subject was not already posted, but I could not find it)

I would like to store into a Goldwave recording a sound produced on my PC (let us say for example, the soundtrack of something played by GomPlayer)
I imagined that if in the Control Properties I used the "Pilote de capture audio principal [07E7]" instead of the Microphone I would have a direct software connection between the sound produced by the audio system and the sound input into Goldwave, but nothing is recorded unless I use the microphone of my Webcam, and in this case, in addition to the noise, any sound I can accidentaly make during the recording phase, is added to the Goldwave file!

Where am I wrong?

Many thanks

(please see below my configuration if it can help)

On the "System" tab of the "Control Properties" dialog, select "Use Core Audio/WASAPI". Then, on the "Device" tab, see if you have a "LOOPBACK" device listed as one of the "Record" devices you can use.

Absolutely!

Thanks a lot Gord for your quick and perfect answer,
I can now record without any background noise. Perfect!

All the best

I am having similar trouble. I have just loaded Goldwave 6.19 onto my new Windows 10 PC. I can get a signal from internet playback using control properties>device>record>test. This test is showing a signal being received and the test results are showing as OK. However when I quit the recording test routine the chosen device (in this case Loopback Speakers - Realtek high definition audio [0536} appears to reset to another device (Loopback Realtek digital output - realtek high definition audio 0533). Therefore when I try to record, nothing comes through. Can anyone tell me where to set the default source device that the system appears to default back to. Thanks

It sounds like your testing the loopback for the speakers; but you haven't actually set that as the default input in the control panel properties for Goldwave.
