Window Tiling: Vertically <==> Horizontally

Post by Infideluxe »

Some comments about the simple window tiling operation...

1) With 2 or 3 windows: The Window->Tile functions are labelled backwards.
"Horizontally" should mean ARRANGE horizontally, not ORIENT horizontally.

2) With more than 3 windows: Tiling is insane. I have a huge monitor with lots of real estate. Manually adjusting what should be a simple automatic layout function is needlessly frustrating. We live in the future (21st century). This should not be an issue. There are software libraries available that handle this stuff.

Ordinarily I'm not an emoji kind of guy, but with this post I considered taking that step.

Thank you.

ALSO: Before posting these, I had searched the forum, and couldn't find #1 mentioned anywhere. Issue #2 was mentioned years ago and definitely deserves attention again.

Unfortunately that is the way Windows does the tiling. Search for "WM_MDITILE" for details.

If you don't need to see all windows simultaneously, you could switch to Tab mode instead under Options | Window.
