Batch processing does not convert rate

Post by pjlbyrne »

Using Goldwave 5.10

I have a dirtree of WAVS, which I want to ensure are all 44.1 KHz. I start the Batch processing dialog, select the directory and, on the 'Convert' tab, ensure that 'PCM signed 16 bit, mono' is selected, the 'rate' checkbox is checked and the selected rate is 44100Hz. On the 'Folder' tab I select 'Store all files in their original folders' and 'Overwrite existing files'.

When I start the batch processing it chugs through the files, but it does not appear to have changed the rate. Eg, if I open one, it is still 22050Hz. The files are not read-only.

It seems to be ignoring the 'rate change' because no other operation was selected - is this really the case?

Thanks

..you know, it would be nice if the batch processing dialogs could be minimised ;¬)

There are some technical reasons that prevent minimizing the program during batch processing. If batch processing is started from the command prompt, GoldWave runs minimized. See the manual for details.
