Including additional metadata in File Information
I would like to copy audiobook metadata tags <NAME> and <TIME> to cue TITLE and INDEX. Can fie File Information window be modified to include these data? Or perhaps some app/batch/tool for externally creating the cue file? I realize that this is an unusual question, and (likely) of interest only to ...

Re: option to tile windows in different order ?
Another work-around is to open a group of files and tile them (horiz or vert), then click on each in the reverse order I want them to appear; re-sort and they are arranged as I like. (Having a larger monitor is very helpful.)
Hope that helps!

Merging files with cue pionts loses existing cues
When I do Tool | File Merger on files/directory with existing cue files, the merger produces a proper file, but the associated cue file only identifies the merged files – the original cue points are discarded. Is this by design, or are option 'Retain all cue points' misleading? Thanks in advance for...

Re: Problem merging files that have cues
I'm very sorry to be so tardy responding. The news isn't good. Chris , my configuration was exactly as you recommended. Dewey , your observation was what I expected—though I hoped that the implied promise was available in some undiscovered way. Dewey , your analysis makes sense and in light of that,...

Seeking suggestions to soften "Ch" in MP3 file
Okay, this seems a bit bizarre to me, so the PowersThatBe will likely send a lightning bolt my way. I would understand if you voted for quarantine—like until you aren't in the forum any more. But this really hurts my ears… oops! A little background: I buy a lot of audiobooks—used to be my favorite m...

Problem merging files that have cues
I am embarrassed to admit trouble with trying to merge several MP3 files, each having associated cue files with several cue points and finding the "Retain"-ed cues. Whether I check "Retain all cue points" or un-check it, I get only cues for the merged files. Is my understanding o...

Any LibriVox artists or 'listeners' here?
I recently stumbled into the briar patch (briarpatch) of LIbriVox audiobooks and I love helping out but I'm having difficulty coming up to speed. Those who are familiar with the outfit/site know there is a WEALTH of information … but it isn't well organized, and the terms aren't easily understood or...

Silence Reduction with Cue Points
My interest in Silence Reduction may be too specific/unique for attention, and that's okay. However I'll throw this out for consideration: I primarily edit audiobooks—mostly for my own pleasure—and find most books require considerable extending and shortening silences (sometimes even those narrated ...

Dude, if you are determined to minimize the window and do other things, then do it yourself: hold down the Windows key and tap the down-arrow key. <sheesh>

Re: FileMerge uses track for cue name
Thank you for your support! I was using the latest version. Before posting my plea, I re-merged the offending files and got the same result. (File names were disc+"-"+track; cue file TITLEs were just the track numbers.) Oh, yes, each of the original files had the track number as Title. I h...

Re: goldwave windows are missing "minimize" feature
I process long files as well -- typically > 4 hours, usually > 10 hours, occasionally ~ 20 hours. Like you, I want to do other things during that lengthy processing. That being said, I believe Chris would do some harm to GW if he facilitated the minimize function in GW -- and it really isn't a criti...

FileMerge uses track for cue name
I'm using 6.2 and today my mergers (Tool|File Merger...) result in a cue file with track numbers instead of the previous behavior of file names. Of course, I don't know what I've done to cause this, and don't see a way to change this behavior. I use File Merger (almost?) exclusively on multi-disk au...

Re: Need help with 'PERFORMER' inserted into Cue file
Thanks Chris. I always save the file with the name 'Chapters' after setting cuepoints at appropriate (for my needs) points, which gives me a heads-up of the problem. I am frustrated because it doesn't always happen, but I can't figure out what causes it or what makes it stop. That may be moot as I j...

Need help with 'PERFORMER' inserted into Cue file
I hope someone can help identify the cause of a problem I sometimes encounter with Cue files and get me on track to a remedy. I mostly use GW (5.69) to parse and tweak audiobooks and divide them into chapters, using the Split feature and the <Cue Name> template to name the exported files. On rare oc...
