Re: Show only ONE track sub-window?
Assume I open GW and drag a first MP3 track onto the main window. First question: How can I tell GW to open the sub-window automatically maximized? Ok (after maximizing it manually) I drag a second MP3 onto the main window. Now two tracks sub windows are shown side-by-side. How can I tell GW to sho...

Re: Use Goldwave for Dynamic Range Compression (DRC)
Can An EQ setting in Effects or elsewhare from GW lower such a band individually? The "Parametric EQ" and "Spectrum Filter" effects (both found under Effect > Filter ) offer the most precise control over the equalization effect. They both accomplish essentially the same thing, t...

Re: Version 5.69 VU meters
Hi Reg.
I don't really know if the new analog meters respond differently than the old ones did, but they certainly will go above 0 if the passage is loud enough (at least they do for me under Vista):

Re: How to check which Lame version my Goldwave 5.58 uses?
I had a look around this machine (32-bit Vista with a clean install of v5.68) and I'm starting to wonder if things may have changed w.r.t. MP3 encoding. My understanding was that GoldWave used standard Windows "stuff" for DEcoding MP3's but it needed to use LAME for ENcoding. However, ... ...

Re: Change Recording Duration while Recording
If you go into Options > Control Properties, select the "Record" tab and change the "Record mode" to "Unbounded" then your recording will continue if it exceeds the length of the current file. Would that suffice?

Re: Automation of adding two files
@DougA - Thanks for offering to help out. Just to clarify, your requests were to "glue" two audio files together (two 1-minute files become one 2-minute file), whereas I'm pretty sure that Vijay wants to "mix" two audio files (two 1-minute files mixed to become one 1-minute file).

Re: CUE Split Successfully but wrong Track Number?
Before performing the split, go into the File > Information... dialog and enter ## into the Track number field. From the GoldWave manual: If the Track number is set to ##, GoldWave replaces it with a sequential number based on the order in which the files are split. The first split file will have a ...

Re: Automation of adding two files
You could write a little Windows script to invoke GoldWave using the '-clipboard' and '-process' parameters to mix pairs of files together. In fact the example provided for '-clipboard' in the GoldWave manual under "Command Line Parameters"... "C:\Program Files\GoldWave\GoldWave.exe&q...

After you've set the Finish marker you can use Edit > Marker > Set... (shortcut [Shift+E]) and update the "Start" time to be exactly 59 minutes before the "Finish" time. Or, if this is something you do regularly you could set a Batch Processing preset with a single edit for "...

Re: Help remastering
Great advice from Doug, as usual. My only addition: You may get more relevant advice if you tell us the source of those recordings. Was your grandfather a musician and are they recordings of him playing (either live, or in the studio)? Are they cassette recordings of vinyl LPs (in which case some Po...

Re: Recording Voicemail from Iphone
Okay, so you want to use your phone to access your Verizon voice mailbox, play the message, and record it on your computer. There is an earlier discussion on the topic here . To summarize: basically, you can copy a voice mail to your laptop if you have a smart phone. Just insert one end of a audio c...

Re: Recording Voicemail from Iphone
When you say "saved" do you mean that after you listened to the message on your iPhone the voice-mail system said something like "to delete this message press 7, to save it press 9" and you pressed 9 (or whatever the corresponding number was)?

Re: Recording Voicemail from Iphone
What exactly do you mean by "copying voicemail from my Iphone to my computer"? Is the voice-mail message already in an audio file on the iPhone, or are you talking about retrieving (listening to) a message from your voice-mail system via your iPhone and recording it onto your computer?
