I've never used EAC as a burner, but I did experience a similar problem with my first burning software... many, many years ago. Maybe it's a bug in EAC. Maybe there's some weird interaction between EAC and your burner's firmware. You should probably try some commercial burning software. I've been us...

...I want to change to a part of another song, without fading. I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "without fading"... Generally you want to overlap (mix) the songs for a short period. A sudden / instant change will usually sound unnatural. If you do want an instant change, zoom-in and ...

I think I may have solved the problem COOL! Do mixer's have built in preamps? Usually a mic preamp... Yours has both mic and phono preamps. With audio, you're generally working with 3 different "levels": Speaker level - Several volts and a few amps. Line level - About 1 volt. A CD player ...

OK. We're all on the wrong track with this RIAA EQ shtuff. I dunno what's going on. Weird! The same mixer is being used for your DJ setup. You did say that the sound from your amp was OK, and that you had to turn-down it's bass to compensate. Your mixer's built-in phono preamps are fine. I'll bet yo...

...line input instead of a phono input. Right! Records are recorded with RIAA Equalization . This boosts the highs by about 20dB, and reduces the lows by about 20dB. A phono input (or phono preamp) applies complementary equalization to re-flatten the response. If you have an "old" receive...

This seems to be true whether those songs are originally WAV files of 44.1kHz-sampled stereo, or 8kHz mono... Because all CDs are 44.1 kHz, 16-bit stereo. That's the standard... That's what all CD players need to play. BTW- , DVDs are different, they use MPEG-2 video compression and sometimes MPEG ...

*.wma are "Windows Media Audio" files, and are a compressed format. Wave files are *.wav or *.wave... compressed formats, then of lower quality. And if you re-encode a compressed file, the result will make appear the compression artifacts more audible, due to the addition of original and ...

Noise reduction can be tricky. It works best when you don't really need it! I suspect that you can improve the sound, but you probably can't make it perfect. (I almost always use noise reduction when I copy from an analog source.) If you use compression, use noise-reduction first. Compression will ...

How far-off is it? If the pitch is slightly off, this could be a hardware problem. Some soundcards have internal clocks that are slightly off. In that case, you wouldn't notice any problems if you record and play-back immediately. But, you would notice a difference if you record on one computer, and...

You're right. MP3 files are much smaller than waves. For some reason, your file was not actually saved in MP3 format. Did you install the LAME encoder? (Goldwave does not encode or decode MP3s by itself.) MP3 is a "lossy" compression format. It saves space by throwing-away "unecessary...

smr888, Decoding & re-coding is BAD! :( GoldWave is a great program, but it doesn't directly edit MP3s. As you probably know, MP3 is a lossy compression format. If you open & save an MP3 with GoldWave, it has to perform a 2nd lossy compression. You might notice some loss of audio quality. Th...

Charlotte, Whenever I burn a CD or DVD, I make an extra back-up / archive copy. I have a drawer full of 'em in CD sleeves. I also keep an electronic copy of the label & packaging artwork. If it ever gets damaged, lost, or stolen, I can reproduce it in a few minutes. A CDs data-layer is on top. I...
