Monitoring while recording, cheap fix...

Post by James Saved »

Just something that might help others.

I was able to record from a portable cd player that has a line out plug, but I wasn't able to hear the record. I think this is becasue of a limited sound card. The record and playback sounded fine. No big deal, I got over it. :)

I did notice that I could hear while I was recording audio files of my kids to email family... The gears started to grind! I used a 3.5 mini male to male and ran from the head phone output, which is weaker, into the mic input on the computer. I was able to monitor what was being recorded... It worked the same for cassette player and the radio. There was not real quality loss that I noticed.
