Seeking suggestions to soften "Ch" in MP3 file

Okay, this seems a bit bizarre to me, so the PowersThatBe will likely send a lightning bolt my way. I would understand if you voted for quarantine—like until you aren't in the forum any more. But this really hurts my ears… oops! A little background: I buy a lot of audiobooks—used to be my favorite medium when driving. Most voice actors are great, but even the best of them have deliveries that grate: when I hear sounds like the "ch" in "Chapter" spit out, it actually makes me cringe—somehow it hurts my ears. I've tried reducing the volume, and have resorted to finding each chapter and using Fade-In to soften it. It just occurred to me that some of you folks are not only gurus, but more likely audio scientists, and I'm wondering if there is a filter that can be applied to these instances.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
