Musepack files encoding?

Post by Olexijl »

Hello,

I posted already to "Goldwave General" about my problems with Musepack files.
I want to have a plugin for Musepack files to encode/create them without any additional software.

Look at: www.musepack.net

Taken from "Goldwave General":

"Let me explain why i need this plugin and what advantage i would have.

1. I use now DbPowerAmp Music Converter (http://www.dbpoweramp.com/dmc.htm) for converting to Musepack. And i would not need this software, if i could convert Music files with Goldwave.
2. I connect to the Shoutcast Radio with Winamp and save some Songs in MP3 (record from Soundcard and save). The advantage of a plugin would be that i would not only convert from other formats to Musepack, but i could save to Musepack my recorded Songs directly.

There are now several plugins for Quicktime and for Monkeys Audio. It would be useful to extend them with a MPCFile plugin."

I noticed the original topic. Requests for Musepack support in GoldWave are very rare. I think this is only the second request in several years. It is unlikely time can be allocated for creating a Musepack plug-in, but the GoldWave SDK is available to anyone that would like to take up the challenge.
